Hrachya Avanesyan Armenia, Age 24

First Prize winner of the 2006 Yehudi Menuhin Competition, Armenian-born violinist Hrachya Avanesyan has performed extensively throughout Europe. Recent debuts include performances with such orchestras as the Belgian National Orchestra, London Chamber Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and the Danish Radio Orchestra among others. In 2008, Hrachya won First Prize in the Carl Nielsen International Violin Competition and in 2006 he won First Prize in Belgium's Prix Henri Vieuxtemps. Hrachya studied at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with Igor Oistrakh and the Queen Elisabeth College of Music with Augustin Dumay. Hrachya plays on the 1717 "Piatti" Stradivarius.

Andrey Baranov was born in Leningrad and began studying violin at the age of five. The recipient of numerous competition prizes, Andrey won Second Prize in the Sendai International Violin Competition, First Prize at the Benjamin Britten International Violin Competition, and First Prize at the Marteau International Violin Competition. Andrey has performed with such orchestras as the St. Petersburg Philharmonic and the Royal Philharmonic in London among others. Andrey studied at the St. Petersburg Conservatory and is currently enrolled at the Conservatory in Lausanne, Switzerland where he is an assistant to Pierre Amoyal. Andrey performs on a violin by Andrea Guarneri (1682).

Benjamin Beilman has appeared as a guest soloist with the Philadelphia, Detroit, and New Mexico symphony orchestras and is a Presidential Scholar in the Arts. He won First Prize at the 2010 Montreal International Music Competition, First Prize and the Bach Prize at the 2009 Corpus Christi International String Competition, and was the Gold Medalist at the 2007 Stulberg International String Competition. A featured artist at the Marlboro Music Festival since age 17, he joins Musicians from Marlboro on tour in 2011. Benjamin currently attends The Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia.

Noah Bendix-Balgley is Laureate of the 2009 Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels and Third Prize winner at the 2008 Long-Thibaud Competition in Paris. Noah has appeared as a soloist with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the Orchestre National de Belgique, and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra among others. He received First Prize at the 14th "Andrea Postacchini" Competition in Fermo, Italy. Noah is a graduate of the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Munich and Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Noah plays on a Giuseppe Guarneri 'del Gesu' violin on kind loan from Florian Leonhard Fine Violins in London.

Sebastian Casleanu was born into a musical family in Münster, Germany and began studying violin with his father at the age of six. In 2009, he was a semi-finalist at the Enescu International Violin Competition in Bucharest and won First Prize at the 2008 Lions Musikpreis NRW. Sebastian regularly performs with orchestras throughout Europe. Currently a student at the Hochschule für Musik Köln, Sebastian also studied at the Robert Schumann Musikhochschule in Düsseldorf.

A recent graduate of the Royal College of Music, Jiafeng Chen won First Prize at the Wieniawski Violin Competition and Second Prize at both the Sibelius and Menuhin Violin Competitions. In addition, he was a Laureate at the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition in 2009. Active as a concerto soloist, Jiafeng has appeared with such orchestras as the Hallé Orchestra, Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Tapiola Sinfonietta, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, among others. Jiafeng plays a violin by Antonio Stradivarius (1692) kindly on loan from Florian Leonhard Fine Violins in London.

Stella Chen is a 17-year old violinist from Palo Alto, CA. Her accomplishments include being the youngest prizewinner in the Senior Category of the Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition as well as winning First Prize at the Los Angeles Philharmonic's Bronislaw Kaper Awards. She has been enrolled in the Preparatory Division of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music since the age of 10. This coming fall, Stella will attend The Juilliard School as a student of Itzhak Perlman.

Nikki Chooi was born in Victoria, Canada and is currently a student at The Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. A recipient of numerous awards, he received First Prize at the Klein International String Competition and the Special Prize at the XIII Tchaikovsky International Violin Competition. Nikki has performed as soloist with the symphony orchestras of Montreal, Victoria, Edmonton, Peninsula and Winnipeg, the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, and the National Arts Centre Orchestra. He has performed on the CBC Debut Atlantic Recital Series, Vancouver Winter Chamber Music Series, the National Arts Centre Debut Recital Series, and as part of the 2009 Curtis on Tour.

Stefani Collins is a Starling Scholarship student at the Cleveland Institute of Music. In 2009, Stefani was the DeLay Fellow at the Aspen Music Festival and was the Second Prize Laureate at the Portnoy International Violin Competition. Last year, she made her Severance Hall and Aspen Music Festival debuts performing Dohnányi's Concerto No. 2. Other solo engagements have included performances with the North Carolina, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Mid-Atlantic, and Eastern Music Festival orchestras. Stefani has also appeared with the New York String Orchestra, All-Girl Vivaldi Orchestra, and on NPR's "From the Top".

Violinist Yoo Jin Jang has performed extensively throughout her native country of South Korea. Recently, she has appeared with the top Korean orchestras including the KBS Symphony Orchestra and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2007, Yoo Jin appeared with the Budapest Festival Orchestra under the direction of Ivan Fischer. Yoo Jin was awarded the Fourth Prize at the Seoul International Music Competition as well as Second Prize, the Audience Prize, and the Prize for Best Performance of the New Zealand commissioned work at the Michael Hill International Violin Competition. Yoo Jin studied at Seoul National University.

Stephanie Jeong was the top prizewinner at the 2008 Paganini International Violin Competition. At the age of 12, she made her solo debut with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Philadelphia Orchestra. Recent highlights include her solo debut with the Kansas City Symphony and her Kennedy Center recital debut in Washington, D.C. A prizewinner at numerous competitions, Stephanie was the winner of the 2008 Korean Concert Society Auditions and won Third Prize at the 2008 Benjamin Britten International Violin Competition. Stephanie received her Bachelors degree from The Curtis Institute of Music and recently completed her Masters degree at The Juilliard School.

Her numerous prizes in international competitions include First Prize at the 2010 Sendai International Violin Competition, Second Prize at the 2009 Hannover International Violin Competition, and First Prize at the 2009 Seoul International Violin Competition. She has been a featured soloist with numerous orchestras including the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra at Orchestra Hall and on their Western European tour, the National Chamber Orchestra, Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra in Michigan, Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra, the Evanston Symphony Orchestra, and the Skokie Valley Symphony Orchestra. Eunice is currently a student at Carnegie Mellon University.

Born in Southern California, Esther Kim began studying violin at the age of five. At the age of 10, she entered The Juilliard School of Music. Esther has won prizes at several international violin competitions, including the Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition. At the age of 12, she was awarded the "Most Promising Musician" Prize at the Los Angeles Philharmonic's Bronislaw Kaper Awards. Esther has soloed with numerous orchestras including the Claremont Symphony, Vermont Symphony, New Hampshire Philharmonic, and the Nagoya Philharmonic among others. Additionally, she has performed throughout Germany as well as Japan, Italy, Austria, and Slovenia. Esther is currently a student at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.

Fabiola Kim, a student at The Juilliard School, has appeared as a soloist with orchestras throughout the world. She was the youngest competitor ever to win the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra's Concerto Competition. In 2005, she won the Concerto Competition of the Aspen Music Festival and the Livingston Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition. She was awarded Second Prize at Corpus Christi International Competition and she is a prizewinner of the 2010 Irving M. Klein International String Competition. Fabiola was recently invited to play at Smetana Hall in Prague with the North Czech Philharmonic Orchestra.

Born in Daegu, Korea, Hwi-Eun Kim began studying the violin at age 7. In the following three years, she won the first prizes at the Korea Music Association Competition, TBC Broadcasting Station Competition, and Ewha Young People's Competition. She has performed concerts at Daegu Arts Center, Daegu Opera House, and Sejong Concert Hall, which were broadcast by KBS and TBC Broadcasting Station. At age 13, she entered The Curtis Institute of Music and is currently continuing her studies at The Juilliard School. Hwi-Eun recently performed a concert at Alice Tully Hall with the Daegu Youth Orchestra.

Born in Kobe, Japan, Mayu Kishima began studying the violin at age three. A Laureate at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2010, Mayu won top honors at the Wieniawski Competition for Young Violinists in 2000. She later won First Prize at the 2003 Patras and 2004 Novosibirsk international competitions. She has since appeared with such orchestras as the Japan and Prague philharmonics, the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks. Mayu studied at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne.

Jae Ook Lee began playing the violin at the age of five and studied at the Korean National University of Arts in Seoul before enrolling in Juilliard's pre-college division at age 12. A recipient of numerous awards, Jae received First Prize in Korea's Strad Competition in Seoul, Second Prize in the Music Journal Competition and First Prize in Kookmin Daily Newspaper and Hansei University Competition in Seoul. In 2006, he won the Juilliard Pre-College Concerto Competition subsequently performing in Alice Tully Hall. He has been a soloist with Joy of Strings, the Great Mountain Music Festival Orchestra, New Jersey Philharmonic Orchestra, Seoul Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. Jae currently attends The Juilliard School.

A winner of numerous competitions, South Korean violinist Marisol Lee received First Prize at the 2009 Max Rostal International Violin Competition, First Prize at the Joong-Ang Music Competition in Seoul, and Third Prize at the Queen Sophie-Charlotte International Competition. Marisol currently lives in Germany where she studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich. She previously studied at Seoul National University and the Seoul Arts High School in Korea. David McCarroll has performed as a soloist throughout the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Tunisia, Thailand, New Zealand, Panama, El Salvador, and the United States. A recipient of numerous awards, David was a prizewinner at the 2009 Michael Hill International Violin Competition and the 2007 Klein International String Competition. David has performed at Marlboro, Prussia Cove, Ravinia, Yellow Barn, Caramoor's Rising Stars Series, Gstaad, Gower, Manchester Quartetfest, Windsor, Wyastone, and Spittalfields festivals. He is currently a student at the New England Conservatory of Music and previously studied at the Yehudi Menuhin School and the Crowden School of Music. Boson Mo United States, Age 20

A native of Boston, Boson Mo discovered the violin at the age of seven, and began his studies in Montréal. Boson has received many distinctions in both Canada and the U.S., including First Prize at the Canadian Music Competition and Third Prize at the Montreal Symphony Orchestra Competition. He currently attends the Cleveland Institute of Music with the help of a generous scholarship from the Starling Foundation. Having already participated at international academies such as the Morningside Music Bridge and the Perlman Music Program Chamber Music Workshop, Boson returned for his third consecutive fellowship summer at the Aspen Music Festival and School. His violin is provided by a scholarship grant from the Virtu Foundation.

Born in St. Petersburg to a family of musicians, Nadja Nevolovitsch began playing the violin at the age of six. She went on to win First Prize at the European Competition for Young Soloists in Luxembourg and Second Prize at the Sion-Valais International Violin Competition in Switzerland. Nadja has performed with such orchestras as the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra, Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra, Japan Philharmonic, and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Romania. She graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and the Musikhochschule Lübeck in Germany. Nadja currently performs on a violin made by Stefan-Peter Greiner which she received as a prizewinner of the foundation "Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben" in Hamburg.

Andrej Power began studying the violin at the age of three in his native Sweden. He was the First Prize winner in the Berlingske Tidendes Competition in Copenhagen, Rovere D'oro in Italy, and Eurovision for Young Musicians Finals in Sweden. He was also a prizewinner in the Stradivarius International Violin Competition in Salt Lake City. Andrej has performed with such orchestras as the Royal Opera Orchestra in Stockholm, Utah Symphony, and the Moscow Philharmonic among others. He has studied at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, Zurcher Hochschule der Kunste, and the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Andrej performs on a Giuseppe Guarneri 'filius Andreae' of Cremona c. 1715, generously loaned by Bein & Fushi.

Originally hailing from China, Xiaoxiao Qiang began her violin studies at the age of four. Xiaoxiao was a prizewinner at the 2010 Tuesday Musical Club Competition in San Antonio and the Corpus Christi String Competition, and was the First Prize winner of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory Concerto Competition. Born in Malaga, Spain, Jesus Reina began his studies at age four with his grandfather, learning Spanish folk music. He later went to the Reina Sofia Music School in Madrid, where he received the prize naming him "the most outstanding violinist" from Queen Sofia of Spain. Jesus' major performances include the Bach Concerto for Two Violins with Pinchas Zukerman, the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with Eiji Oue and the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, and a performance with Valery Gergiev and the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra at the "El Escorial" festival 2007. Jesus is currently a student at the Manhattan School of Music and previously studied at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.

Michelle Ross recently graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Comparative Literature. Also a composer, Ms. Ross was named Emerging Composer by the New York Arts Ensemble, and her work in collaboration with dance was honored in the Choreographic Honors Awards at Juilliard. Ms. Ross was the winner of Juilliard's Pre-College Stravinsky Competition as well as winner of the Lawyer's Orchestra Tchaikovsky Competition. Ms. Ross is currently a student at The Juilliard School.

Robin Scott has performed internationally and won Second Prizes in the Menuhin International Violin Competition, and both the Klein and Stulberg International String Competitions. He has performed as soloist with orchestras such as the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestre National de Lille among others. Robin has performed at many of the most prestigious concert halls including Carnegie's Weill Hall, the Kennedy Center and the Library of Congress, as well as participated in the Ravinia and Marlboro Festivals. He currently studies at the New England Conservatory and previously studied at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Robin plays on a violin generously loaned to him by Richard Hendrix.

Eric Silberger has performed as soloist, recitalist and chamber musician throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe and Asia. He has been featured on numerous international television and radio broadcasts and has appeared as soloist with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra among others. Silberger is an honorary scholarship student at the Columbia University and The Juilliard School Joint Program. At Columbia, Silberger is majoring in economics and political science. Silberger is President of Epresto Entertainment LLC, Columbia Classical Performers, and organizer of the BCJ concert series at Miller Theatre (NYC).

Born in Korea, Yoonshin Song began her musical studies at the age of five. Winner of the Stradivarius International Violin Competition, Ms. Song also won the Second Prize in the Lipizer International Violin Competition in Italy where she was also awarded the Special Prize for the best performance of a Paganini Caprice. She has performed with many orchestras around the world including the Houston Symphony Orchestra and the Utah Symphony among others. Yoonshin is currently an Artist Diploma student at the Manhattan School of Music and previously studied at the New England Conservatory and Seoul National University. Yoonshin plays on a 1707 Vincenzo Rugeri violin generously loaned to her by a sponsor in Michigan.

Mr. Špaček has performed as a soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, the Kansas City Symphony, and the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra among others. Most recently, he won the Grand Prize at the Michael Hill International Violin Competition in 2009, and Third Prize and the Young Person's Jury Prize in the Carl Nielsen International Violin Competition in 2008. Mr. Špa?ek has performed at the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival, Music from Angel Fire, Bohuslav Martinu Festival, and at the Moravian Autumn Music Festival. Josef graduated from The Curtis Institute of Music in 2009 and is currently studying at The Juilliard School.

Emma Steele is a junior at Carnegie Mellon University and is co-concertmaster of the Carnegie Mellon Philharmonic. Emma has soloed with the Chicago Youth Concert Orchestra, the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Northwest Symphony Orchestra, and the Carnegie Mellon Philharmonic. She has received many first prize awards and recently received a study grant from the International Pablo de Sarasate Violin Competition. She was also accepted to compete in the Menuhin Competition in Oslo. A native of Chicago, Emma studied for two years at the Indiana University String Academy.

Elly Suh has received awards from the Society for Strings, the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts, and the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. She has participated in the Banff Master classes, Perlman Music Program, Taos School of Music, Meadowmount and Music Academy of the West. Elly received her Bachelors degree at The Juilliard School, where she is continuing her graduate studies as a recipient of the Jerome Greene Fellowship.

Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, Valentina received her first violin lessons at the age of five. At the age of 10, she entered a special music school at St. Petersburg Conservatory. A recipient of numerous awards, Valentina won Second Prize at the Lipizer International Violin Competition where she was also awarded special prizes for her performances of works by Mozart and Bach. She was also Second Prize winner of the Valsesia Musicale International Violin Competition. Valentina is a graduate of the St. Petersburg Conservatory and the Menuhin Academy in Switzerland. In 2007, Valentina joined the world-renowned Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam. Valentina performs on a violin by Andrea Guarneri (1676).

Antal Szalai Hungary, Age 29

A native of Hungary, Antal Szalai first began his violin studies at the age of five. Since then, Antal has performed with such orchestras as the Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Berlin and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic among many others. At age 15, he was invited to perform for the gala concert to celebrate Yehudi Menuhin's 80th birthday. Antal will make his Viennese debut in 2010 at the famed Musikverein with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. Szalai was a Laureate at the Queen Elisabeth International Violin Competition and First Prize winner at both the Lipizer and Valsesia Musicale international violin competitions.

Danbi Um started playing the violin at age 2. At the age of 10, she was the youngest student ever admitted to The Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia where she received her Bachelors degree in 2008. Danbi made her debut with the Vermont Symphony Orchestra at the age of 13. She placed second at Menuhin International Violin Competition and received Third Prize at the Michael Hill International Violin Competition in 2009. She has attended Ravinia, Yellow Barn and Holland International Music Sessions. Danbi is currently enrolled at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.

Arianna Warsaw-Fan is an active soloist and chamber musician. She has performed at Ravinia, Music@Menlo, the Bel-Air Rencontres de Musique de Chambre à Chambéry and the Verbier and Aspen music festivals. She is a founding member of the Nonamé String Quartet, and has collaborated with numerous chamber ensembles. Arianna received her Bachelor of Music degree from The Juilliard School, where she served as concertmaster, and is currently finishing her Master of Music degree with Masao Kawasaki.

Haoming began studying violin at six and was admitted to Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing in 2008. He has won numerous awards including Second Prize at the China National Violin Competition and Fourth Prize at the Qingdao International Violin Competition. Haoming has soloed with orchestras throughout China and abroad. In 2009, Haoming performed in Brussels to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the People's Republic of China.

Ying Xue China, Age 24

Ying Xue was born in Urumqi, China and began violin studies at the age of four. At age 22, she won First Prize in the 2007 Corpus Christi Competition and was the Third Prize winner at the Irving M. Klein International String Competition in 2008. As a soloist she has played concertos with the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra and the Symphony By the Sea in the United States, and with the Nanning Symphony Orchestra, Jinfan Symphony Orchestra, and Yinfan Symphony Orchestra in China. Ms. Xue finished her Bachelors and Masters degrees at the New England Conservatory of Music as the recipient of the Irene M. Stare Presidential Scholarship and the Wilhelmina Sandwen Scholarship.

Soyoung Yoon South Korea, Age 25

Soyoung Yoon received her first violin lesson at the age of five in her native South Korea. Soyoung was a prizewinner at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels and the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. She also received Grand Prize at the Odessa International David Oistrakh Violin Competition and First Prize at the Menuhin International Violin Competition in 2002. Soyoung has toured as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Asia and Europe. Previously a student at the Musikhochschule Köln, she is currently studying at the Zurich University of Arts in Switzerland.
